Privacy of personal data has become increasingly alarming. As digital technology advances, fraudsters may more easily steal and exploit personal data of others. Thus, safeguarding the privacy of our partner alumni’s personal data is of paramount importance to Education Verification.

In order to uphold the privacy of personal data and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, such as the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Regulation No. 20 of 2016 concerning Personal Data Protection in Electronic System that applies in Indonesia and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have implemented several measures in the alumni diploma verification procedure, including:

1. Consent letter. In order to legally collect and verify alumni’s personal data, we require a consent letter duly signed by the alumnus. This letter guarantees the accountability of third parties such as background screening companies, who process data on the basis that they have been authorized to verify the information contained in the diploma and the data to be obtained is only used for verification purposes.
2. The platform does not access the alumni database. The Education Verification platform does not require an interface connection that allows it to access our partners’ alumni database.
3. Data retention. We periodically delete data on our servers and partners will receive a data destruction report.

Through www.education–verification.com, which is a one-stop verification platform, the document verification process will be more efficient in terms of time and resources. On the Education Verification platform, the name of the verifier is recorded in the system, which maintains accountability in the verification process. In addition, verification is carried out in a two-step process: verification by academic staff and confirmation by supervisors, which promotes check-and-balance. It is also guaranteed that all registered partners are only accredited ones. All verification results can be accounted for and guaranteed to be accurate.
